Sheffield metalcore act Bring me the horizon have created a big buzz in the internet and by terrorizing around the world with their brutal live shows. The band just released a new remix album called "Suicide Season: Cut Up." The band's guitarists Jona Weinhofen and Lee Malia had the time to hang with us.

Porcupine Tree

Unearth butchered Nosturi, Helsinki!

American metalcore band Unearth has toured with bands such as: Slipknot, Killswitch Engage and Lamb of God. Their first show in Finland was held on the 22nd of September in Nosturi, Helsinki. On the same evening there also played bands like: Dååth, Throwdown and Chimaira. Unearth guitarist Buz McGrath tells us about the latest news in the band and about a bonfire they made after a show in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Misery Signals

Progressive metalcore band Misery Signals was formed in Wisconsin, USA in 2002. In seven years the band has released one EP and three albums. CityVice met the band's vocalist Karl Schubach before their show in Nosturi, Helsinki. Karl told about the Misery Signals new album and his thoughts about him replacing the band's ex-vocalist Jesse Zaraska.

Medeia @ Tuska Open Air 2009

Tampere based alternative/death metal band Medeia has gained a good reputation as an energetic and fierce live band. They have played with bands such as The Dillinger Escape Plan, Entombed and As I Lay Dying.

British electro band Delphic supported Bloc Party in Helsinki


Manchester based Delphic are gathering a lot of hype around the world. They have been existing over a year now and already they have been supporting Bloc Party on their European tour and soon they will be releasing their debut full-lenght album.

Delphic mix electro with indie type of music making it sound fresh and interesting. They have been said to be the missing link between the Chemical Brothers and New Order, between Underworld and Muse.

Last February CityVice met three members of the band before their Bloc Party support show in Helsinki's Ice Arena. Matt, Richard and James turned out to be really nice blokes and even organized us six free tickets to that evening's show. So lots of love and respect from CityVice to the guys from Delphic. <3

Lumi on 14 is a concept store located in Punavuori, Helsinki. The store is devoted to bringing the best of designer brands worldwide. You can find brands such as: MHANN, Lumi, Blanc, Nunc, Piia Hänninen, Tracy Matthews and Yaz. The owners of the Lumi on 14 - store are fashion designers Sanna Kantola and Bruno Beaugrand who are well-known for their own fashion brand, LUMI.

The Hard-Ons from Australia!

The Hard-Ons are a punk rock band from Sydney, Australia that originally was formed in 1981. They have been called Australia's most commercially successful independent band with over 250,000 total record sales. Henry Rollins, Jello Biafra and Dave Grohl are big fans of the band. 

On the 19th of March the Hard-Ons played in Club Tavastia, Helsinki. The band's bassplayer Ray Ahn gave CityVice an inside peek to the history of the band and also discussed about the internet revolution.

Helsinki Vintage

The first ever Helsinki Vintage - event was held at Helsinki's Valkoinen sali on the 8th of February 2009. The place was packed with people interested in vintage clothes and culture. 

Helsinki Vintage's program included a burlusque show, a band performing (The Atomic Blast), lots of vintage shops selling their products and all kinds of other fun activities. 

CityVice met with the event's producer Lotta Nyqvist, to talk about Helsinki Vintage and the vintage culture overall.

Stam1na releases a DVD!

Today Finnish metal rockers Stam1na released their first DVD called K13V which contains 2 dvd's and it has over 5 hours of material. The name K13V comes from the words "Kadonneet 13 Vuotta" (Lost 13 Years) which means that Stam1na turns 13 years this year.

CityVice met with Stam1na's frontman Antti "Hyrde" Hyyrynen to talk about the new DVD.



Comeback Kid destroyed Helsinki

Comeback Kid is a hardcore punk band from Winnipeg, Canada. They are well known from their energetic and aggressive live shows. The band is also constantly touring around the world. This spring CBK toured Europe with Misery Signals and the Architects. Their last show on this tour was held in Nosturi, Helsinki where we got the chance to talk with the band's frontman Andrew Neufeld.

Comeback Kid was doing a soundcheck, when Andrew came to see us to share his thoughts about the band, touring and about living the dream.

Pornstars Lisa Ann & Julia Ann at Helsinki sEXHIBITION '09

Pornstars Lisa Ann (best known for her role as Sarah Palin in the movie "Who's Nailin' Paylin?" and Julia Ann (former Penthouse Pet) were the main stars at this year's sEXHIBITION erotic fair held in the Helsinki Ice Hall on the 24th and 25th of April. 

The girls were really excited to be in Finland: they couldn't wait to get onstage and perform. CityVice got a chance to talk with the girls about their life, careers and dreams. What are these pornstars biggest fantasies? Check out the video and find out!

Architects in Nosturi, Helsinki

The young UK metallers, Architects, supported Comeback Kid in Helsinki's Nosturi on the 20th of April. This really aggressive and talented young band released it's new album "Hollow Crown" last January through Century Media Records. We interviewed the band's vocalist Sam Carter and drummer Dan Searle just before their soundcheck. The boys were a little bit tired, because of an early flight from Holland to Finland and lack of sleep. But, they were really happy to be in Finland for the very first time and play their last show on this tour with Comeback Kid.
